Legend has it that the dubstep DJ Turbo outran a Porsche in a pair of Vans sneakers.
I just had to incorporate that somehow in his visuals. This is Turbo. A badass dubstep DJ who reminds me of the 911 Turbo-S.
I started this project by drawing out every angle of the Porsche in Illustrator, then I built a 2.5D environment for the car in After Effects. The goal was to have two phases: A chill phase with Turbo's logo in the background, and a hyper phase with strobe lights for the drops. The final editing touches were done in Premiere Pro.
Thanks to my friend Katsuya for helping me translate the Japanese kanji.
